Madeline Bugeau-Heartt is a Maine-based writer, director, and performer. Since graduating from NYU Tisch with a BFA in theater in 2013 where she studied with Tony Award Winning director Rachel Chavkin and her company The TEAM, Madeline has gone on to manifest countless theater projects, most recently including the direction of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya and her originally devised work My Boyfriend Bonhoeffer. She recently completed her Masters of Divinity at the Harvard Divinity School where she explored climate change and theater as a sacred space, and which culminated in the making of Neighborhood, a full-length pilot of a reimagined Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood program. She is honored to be a company member and Devising Czar of the counter/current: collective in Belfast, Maine. When not making art, Madeline works to organize and facilitate changemaking in her community. She is currently a consultant for both The BTS Center and The Atlantic Black Box, and hopes to open a Center for Radical Transformation in the near future.
